Member import
Bring your members across from a spreadsheet
Amble brings your studio across from the CSV files your current system exports: members, their memberships and credits, your class types, your weekly timetable and your instructors. You match the columns, fix any problem rows, and see exactly what will happen before anything changes.
How it works
Export your data from the system you use now, one CSV file for each kind: members, memberships, credits, class types, the timetable and instructors. In Amble, go to Setup, then Import, choose where it comes from and add the files.
Amble matches each column to what it holds, whatever order they are in, and you can change any match. Rows with a problem, such as a missing email or someone listed twice, are shown so you can fix them or leave them out.
A check before anything changes
Before importing, Amble runs the whole import as a check and then undoes it, so the numbers you see are exactly what will happen. Nothing changes until you confirm, and until people start using what came across, the whole import can be undone in one go.
Memberships and credits
Memberships come across active, keeping the next payment date from your old system. When a member adds a card in Amble, their first payment waits until that date, so nobody pays twice for the same month.
Credits and class packs come across with what is left and when they expire. Ones that have already expired are left behind.
Members who are already here
Someone already in Amble is matched by email, and only their empty details are filled in. Nothing they already have is changed.
Past attendance
A second import brings attendance history across: each member’s email, the class, the date and, if you have it, whether they attended. It is matched to members by email and shows on each member’s page and in their lifetime total. It doesn’t feed into your reports.
What it doesn’t do yet
- There’s no direct connection to Mindbody, Glofox or other systems. The import works from the CSV files they export.
- Saved cards can’t be moved in a file, so members add a card in Amble once. Moving saved cards directly is a request between your old provider and Stripe.
- Future bookings don’t come across. Members book again on your new timetable.
- Memberships are billed monthly or yearly, so a weekly or four-weekly plan moves to the plan you choose.

Amble for small-group PTQuestions studio owners ask
Can I import members from Mindbody or Glofox?
Yes, from the CSV files they export, which you add in Setup. There’s no direct connection to either system.
What do the files need?
A name and an email for each member. Everything else is optional: phone numbers, memberships with their next payment date, credits with their expiry, class types, the weekly timetable and instructors.
What happens to members who are already in Amble?
They’re matched by email and only their empty details are filled in. Nothing they already have is changed.
Can I bring across past attendance?
Yes, in a separate import with the email, class and date for each visit. It shows on each member’s page but not in your reports.
Do memberships and saved cards come across?
Memberships do, active and keeping their next payment date, so nobody pays twice. Saved cards can’t be moved in a file, so members add a card in Amble once, and their first payment waits until that date.
Can I undo an import?
Yes, in one go, until people start using it: a booking, a payment, a card added or someone signing in.
