Payments

Card payments that go straight to your account

With Amble, members pay for class packs and memberships by card through Stripe, and the money goes straight to your own Stripe account. Your studio is the merchant. Amble takes no cut on paid plans, and a 2% fee on the Free plan.

How the money moves

You connect your own Stripe account during setup. Members pay through Stripe’s secure checkout, the charge is made on your account, and payouts go to your bank on Stripe’s schedule. Card details never touch Amble.

Stripe charges its usual processing fees to your account. Amble adds nothing on the paid plans; on the Free plan it takes 2% of each payment.

What members can buy

  • Class packs: a set number of credits, with an optional expiry and an optional one-per-member limit for intro offers.
  • Memberships: monthly or yearly, with an optional monthly allowance of credits and an optional minimum term.

When a payment fails

If a membership payment fails, the member is marked as past due and sees a banner asking them to sort it out, so you aren’t the one chasing.

What it doesn’t do yet

  • Direct Debit (BACS) isn’t supported; payments are by card through Stripe.
  • Members can’t yet update a saved card themselves.

Questions studio owners ask

Does Amble take a cut of payments?

Not on paid plans. On the Free plan (up to 25 members) Amble takes 2% of each card payment. Stripe’s own processing fees apply either way.

Where does the money go?

Straight to your own Stripe account. Your studio is the merchant, and Stripe pays out to your bank.

Can members pay by Direct Debit?

Not at the moment. Members pay by card through Stripe.

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes. You connect your own Stripe account from Amble’s setup screens, and payments go to it.

How much does Amble cost?

Amble is free for up to 25 members, with a 2% fee on card payments. Paid plans start at £29 a month with no payment fee, and your first paid plan comes with a 30-day free trial. See pricing.
